Save Iowa was setup to help those affected by the historic 2008 Iowa Floods but a lot of the resources gathered are valuable to any cause. Below are online resources setup to assist those in need.

American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund
The Red Cross anticipates spending in excess of $15 Million for recent disasters. Already, more than 1,400 Red Cross workers are assisting people in the affected area, and the organization is gearing up to provide additional relief. These operations will cost the Red Cross millions of dollars and the help of the American public is needed to meet the growing needs. Over the past days, the Red Cross has responded to the floods in Iowa.

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), notified Direct Relief that the Community Health Center of Southeastern Iowa in Columbus Junction was completely flooded. The center is one of the few points of care for poor and uninsured residents in the county, according to NACHC.

There are several hundred dogs, even more cats, and other companion animals being housed in temporary evacuation shelters in Cedar Rapids. Many, many more animals are still stranded in the tens of thousands of abandoned homes. On top of everything, the Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter has been completely destroyed.
